Visiting Baltimore

From the early days of the American Revolution to the establishment of our railway system, Baltimore has played a vital role in our nation’s history. Starting in the late 1970s, ‘Charm City’ lead the way with an ambitious urban renewal project, and today Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area boasts some of the most spectacular tourist destinations along the Eastern seaboard. Dining, shopping and museums can all be found within a stone’s throw of the Baltimore Convention Center. The The Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor is the official hotel for HTUF 2011. Upon registration, you will be directed to the HTUF2011 housing site to make hotel reservations. Rates based upon availability.

Weather

Getting to Baltimore

With its central location along the East coast, Baltimore is conveniently reached via plane, train or automobile.

By Air

BWI Marshall Airport has over 700 daily flights from over 65 domestic and international locations. BWI Marshall is a mere 15-20 minute taxi ride ($30 flat rate), or 1/2 hour train ride from the airport to the Baltimore Marriott Inner Harbor.

By Train
Amtrak has service from over 500 locations with 80 trains per day stopping at Baltimore’s Penn Station. The Baltimore Marriot Inner Harbor is a five minute taxi ride or 15 minute train ride from the station.

Public Transportation (buses and trains)

Taxis

During most times of day, hailing a taxicab in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor area is possible. During off-hours and in other neighborhoods, it is advisable to call ahead for taxi service. Baltimore Yellow Cab (410-685-1212) has several hybrid vehicles in their fleet.
